       Amy is passionate about health/well being and helping you reach your goals through movement and massage. My initial contact with Amy was through her exercise classes and Pilates teaching. My hope was to increase my strength and endurance while getting flexibility and improving my posture. Amy carefully listened and then (patiently and encouragingly) coached me in exercises that helped me develop muscle, change my shape, and give me a better awareness and understanding of my body in general. She explains and demonstrates everything so well and watches carefully so you can get a good workout that is pain-free. As a massage therapist, Amy again is a great listener and tailors each massage to my current problem areas. She checks in with me to find the perfect pressure, pace and rhythm. She has a gift for finding all the tight spots and knots and works them out. I recommend Amy to anyone who is looking to have an effective body work coach, personal trainer or massage therapist.        Thank you for our thirteenth ski season working together! Can you believe that? You stood with me working through a new injury; working on old injuries; working on my confidence which was abysmally low starting our season together.        I have had the good fortune to work with Amy Matthias for about two years. I am a hard case because I do not have a history of exercise and am far along in the development of scoliosis and stenosis of the spine, at the age of 79. Amy is openminded about what is possible.        I’ve known Amy Matthias for many years. Our relationship began when I joined her Water Aerobics class. It was clear that her class was not only aerobic; we were expected to both engage and use ALL our body when we moved. Engaging every part of me was a new concept, but I understood quickly how satisfying the practice is. Amy has found a way use a wide variety of equipment and techniques to take her clients further. With her wise guidance, I’ve been working on walking. After more than two years of broken femurs, hip surgeries, and pain, my body knotted itself up and forgot how to locomote. She’s helped me build strength. She’s helped me increase flexibility. She’s helped me improve my balance. She’s alleviated pain. And she’s doing it with skill, care, and humor. I feel fortunate that she is willing to use her skills to improve my life. And that’s just what she’s doing.

       I have trained with Amy for over 11 years. I initially started her Pilates class because of physical therapy. I really wished the physical therapy I was doing could be a full body workout. I have stayed with Amy because she is fun, down-to-earth, knowledgeable, and excellent at modifying moves on the fly for each client. Amy is a student of kinesiology. She is fascinated by the body and how it works. During the time that I have known her she has added massage and fascia work to her repertoire of Pilates and training.
